Reporting in Altutude

This guide introduces you to the core reports available in Altitude.

Introduction

If you cannot find a report you would like to see, please provide feedback through our feedback portal, which can be accessed from the bottom left of the Altitude home page:

We will review all requests for our development roadmap. In the meantime, you can also create custom dashboards for any additional data you would like to extract! For help with this, please see our guide, “Creating Custom Dashboards”.

Standard Dashboards

Standard dashboards can be accessed through the Reporting menu in the main navigation panel. The Intune Dashboards feature is fully available in first release.

Click Intune Dashboards to start exploring!

You will initially see the home page, giving an overview of your Intune estate.

You can filter all visualizations by OS, using the dropdown option in the top left.

To dive into your data, click the arrow in the top right of a panel (as shown above in Avg Autopilot Duration). This will maximise the visualization, and give you access to any additional filters which have been applied.

Click the graph icon to display the data in a different way – this change will be carried through to your dashboard when you click the arrow to minimise.

This allows you to explore the data to ensure that you understand it, and to amend the display method for different audiences.

Please note, though, that this change is temporary and will be reset when you click onto a different screen, so if you are preparing to export data, you will need to do this immediately after changing the view.

Exporting data

To export data, click on the three dots in the top right of the dashboard, and click Export Data.

Select the Export Format you want to use, depending on your audience:

  • When exporting an image, you will have the option to edit or annotate the image before saving it, copy it to your clipboard, or save the file.
  • When exporting to PowerPoint, you can select which of the visualizations you want to include as separate slides, add a description, and set the author and company to be added to the file’s metadata by clicking on Branding. Use the pencil icon to edit the name – this will then be used as the name of the file, which will be saved to your Downloads.
  • When exporting to pdf, you can again edit the name to set the filename, and select which visualizations you want to include. You can also add descriptions, amend titles and add annotations to any of the pages. In the top right, you can again set the author and company under Branding, select whether you want the file to be exported in portrait or landscape, and change the data language to a supported language using the three dots in the top right.
  • When exporting to Excel, the figures behind each visualization will export to a different sheet. You can rename these before export, and rename the file by changing the title. You can also deselect any sheets you don’t want to include. Use “Include Visualization” in the top right to determine whether the visualizations are included on the sheets with the data, on separate sheets, or not included. Click “Export Excel” when you’re ready.

Exploring further

Each of the options across the top of the dashboard screen will take you into a more detailed dashboard:

Where you see a icon in a graphic or a table, this indicates that there is a data drill down available.

Click Open Device Drill Down to access this additional detail.

From the drill down screen, you can click the arrow in the top left to return to the originating dashboard:
